Preview: Poplarville Hornets vs. Gautier Gators
The Poplarville Hornets will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Gautier Gators at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Friday, Poplarville came up short against Picayune and fell 43-34.
The losing side was boosted by Tameah Bester, who scored 16 points. Aniriah Galloway was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Meanwhile, Gautier's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 43-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pearl River Central.
Poplarville's victory bumped their season record to 6-3 while Picayune's defeat dropped theirs to 5-6.
Poplarville couldn't quite finish off Gautier in their previous matchup back in November of 2021 and fell 38-36. Can Poplarville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
