Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Spartans vs. Los Gatos Wildcats

The Mountain View Spartans will square off against the Los Gatos Wildcats at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Wednesday, Mountain View lost to Wilcox on the road by a 77-61 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (56), the Spartans still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Los Gatos won against Wilcox on Friday with 71 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Monday. Los Gatos strolled past Terra Nova with points to spare, taking the game 71-56. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats who have now won three contests in a row.

Los Gatos' win came from a few key players Mountain View will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Scotty Brennan, who went 9 for 14 on his way to 23 points and five boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Osha Moloney, who went 6 of 9 en route to 17 points.

Los Gatos' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Mountain View, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
