Soccer Game Preview: Westmont vs. Leigh

The Westmont Warriors will square off against the Leigh Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

Westmont's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They skirted past Branham 1-0. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Bruins are ranked 701st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Leigh sidestepped Mt. Pleasant for a 1-0 victory.

Westmont is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those 13 games. As for Leigh, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.

Westmont took their victory against Leigh in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 6-3. Does Westmont have another victory up their sleeve, or will Leigh turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
