Football Preview: Monarch Knights vs. Fort Lauderdale Flying L's        
        
		
             The Monarch Knights are taking a road trip to  square off against the Fort Lauderdale Flying L  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
 Last Friday, Monarch was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap  as they fell  30-26 to Seminole. The loss was the Knights' first of the season.
 Despite the  loss, Monarch got top-tier performance from   Jack Spaeder, who threw for 246 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown.  Bre'Lan Mareus handled things on the ground, rushing for 146 yards and a  rushing touchdown.
 Monarch wouldn't let Seminole keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Monarch can thank  Dj Copeland and  Jaylen Liberal for forcing both of them.  Jeremy Daniels was another major factor on D,  picking up  a  sack and making eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).
 Meanwhile, Fort Lauderdale came up short against Boyd Anderson last Friday and fell  28-15.
 Having lost for the first time  this season, Monarch  fell to 2-1. As for Fort Lauderdale, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with that  defeat, which was their fifth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Monarch lost to Fort Lauderdale on the road  by a decisive  28-12 margin  when the teams last played  back in September of 2021. Can Monarch avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
