Basketball Recap: Quitman Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Quitman can now relate to. They took a 49-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lanier Bulldogs on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 38-36 back in November of 2024.

Defeat or not, Quitman got some senior leadership from KIARRA THOMPSON and AIYANNA DEAR. THOMPSON posted seven points along with six boards and six blocks, while DEAR put up ten points. THOMPSON is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.

Quitman's loss dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Lanier, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Quitman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lanier, they have already played their next contest, a 30-24 win against Forest on the 20th.
