Baseball Recap: Shrine Catholic Takes a Loss

Shrine Catholic might've scored the first runs on Saturday, but it was Greenhills who claimed the real prize. The Knights fell just short of the Gryphons by a score of 6-5. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Gryphons recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Shrine Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mike McGavin, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. McGavin has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Shrine Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Greenhills, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 21-3.

While Shrine Catholic had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
