California typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Foothill proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Grizzlies. The game was the first time the Falcons have beaten the Grizzlies on their field since May 3, 2018.

Foothill also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Myra Galzie gave up only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits.

Liberty's victory was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. Foothill's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Liberty has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game.
