Liberty is 1-7 against Foothill since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Lions will be playing at home against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. Liberty will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.
Liberty is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against San Marin as they made off with an 11-4 victory. Considering the Lions have won 15 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kate Skinner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Taylor Jennings was incredible, firing off two home runs and three runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Isabella Rice, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Liberty was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Marin only posted a batting average of .143.
California typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Foothill proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Grizzlies. The game was the first time the Falcons have beaten the Grizzlies on their field since May 3, 2018.
Foothill also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Myra Galzie gave up only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Naima Braham, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Brea Olsen was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Liberty's victory was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Foothill, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-8-1.
Foothill's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Liberty has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Foothill, though, as they've been averaging only 2.8 strikeouts. Will Liberty keep running through batters, or will the Falcons buck the trend?
Liberty was able to grind out a solid win over Foothill in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, winning 5-1. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
