Softball Game Preview: Chicago Academy Cougars vs. Prosser Falcons

For the second straight game, Chicago Academy will face off against Prosser. The Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Chicago Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.2 runs per game this season.

Chicago Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Prosser, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cougars blew past the Falcons 19-7 on Wednesday.

Bella Trejo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up seven earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-3. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game.

In other batting news, Sariah Arlequin was a standout: she scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Rodriguez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.

The victory got Chicago Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Prosser, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
