Preview: Lutheran South Academy Pioneers vs. Fort Bend Christian Academy Eagles
The Lutheran South Academy Pioneers will head out on the road to take on the Fort Bend Christian Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lutheran South Academy posted their biggest win since November 14, 2023 on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat The Woodlands Christian Academy 51-24 on the road.
Makynna Robbins was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 15 games she's played. Morgan Gray was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Fort Bend Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Frassati Catholic on Friday, taking the game 46-37. The win was just what Fort Bend Christian Academy needed coming off of a 63-27 loss in their prior match.
Lutheran South Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-11 record this season. As for Fort Bend Christian Academy, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-11.
Lutheran South Academy and Fort Bend Christian Academy were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but Lutheran South Academy came up empty-handed after a 45-44 defeat.
