Basketball Recap: Florida Christian Takes a Loss

Florida Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Gulliver Prep Raiders and fell 56-9. The Patriots lost against the Raiders in their previous head to head back in December of 2020, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 60-52 score last time.

Kianny Gil was Florida Christian's leading scorer, having posted four points.

Gulliver Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mikayla Brown, who posted 22 points. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Gulliver Prep's points. Another player making a difference was Valentina Damien, who earned 15 points.

Florida Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Gulliver Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season.

Florida Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 57-37 defeat against TERRA Environmental on the 30th. As for Gulliver Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-40 loss against Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart on the 30th.
