Basketball Recap: Coolidge Comes Up Short

The Coolidge Colts lost to the Roman Catholic Cahillite on the road by a 71-52 margin on Friday. The contest marked the Colts' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Coolidge lost, don't look at Quintin Cooper. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 32 points and nine rebounds. Cooper is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in the last 23 games he's played dating back to last season. Makiah Gray was another key player, putting up nine points and six rebounds.

Coolidge's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Roman Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Coolidge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 72-49 victory against Maret on the 14th. As for Roman Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-50 defeat against Chaminade on the 14th.
