Basketball Recap: Bishop Mcguinness Takes Down North Rowan in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Bishop McGuinness rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 73-25 victory over the North Rowan Cavaliers. The Villains have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Adelaide Jernigan, who on her way to 27 points and five assists. Her big performance that evening made it 26 games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jenna Moore, who en route to 16 points.

Jernigan wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Bishop McGuinness was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Bishop McGuinness' win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.1 points over those games. As for North Rowan, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.

Bishop McGuinness will challenge Jackson Day at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Bishop McGuinness' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests. North Rowan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
