Soccer Game Preview: Central Davidson vs. Oak Grove

The Central Davidson Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Oak Grove Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Central Davidson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season.

Last Wednesday, Central Davidson didn't have quite enough to beat North Davidson and fell 2-1. Central Davidson have struggled against North Davidson recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Central Davidson's goal came courtesy of Carrie Street, who's now up to 11 this season.

Meanwhile, Oak Grove came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Blue Comets a 5-0 shutout. Oak Grove might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by four goals or more this season.

Oak Grove now has a winning record of 7-6-2. As for Central Davidson, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4-3.

Central Davidson might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Oak Grove in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
