Softball Recap: Ridge Spring-Monetta Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Ridge Spring-Monetta came out on top against Williston-Elko on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Trojans took their game against the Blue Devils 9-4. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Adalynn Holsomback made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Ridge Spring-Monetta let Nathaly Segura and Alyssa Whitfield run wild. Segura went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Whitfield got on base in two of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Those stolen bases were Whitfield's first of the season. Kollyns Harley was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Ridge Spring-Monetta now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Williston-Elko, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, Ridge Spring-Monetta will venture away from home to take on Abbeville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Williston-Elko, they will welcome Calhoun County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
