Basketball Recap: Daleville Broncos vs. Lapel Bulldogs

Daleville lost against Lapel back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Daleville Broncos had to suffer through a 79-52 loss at the hands of the Lapel Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 150th).

Daleville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cooper Sexton, who posted 11 points. Hunter Suchyna also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lapel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brode B Judge, who went 9 of 12 en route to 22 points along with five assists and three steals. That's the most steals B Judge has posted since back in January of 2024. Bode Judge was another key player, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Daleville and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for Lapel, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5.

Daleville has already played their next match, a 56-52 loss against Eastbrook on the 28th. As for Lapel, they are taking a road trip to challenge Eastern Hancock at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Eastern Hancock is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.6 points per game this season.
