Elkmont got themselves on the board against Decatur Heritage Christian Academy on Friday, but Decatur Heritage Christian Academy never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Eagles. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

MJ Woodfin made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Layla Smith, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Avery Harwell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Elkmont now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Decatur Heritage Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-18-2.
