Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Henry County). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Kenwood Knights a 21-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Patriots have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Turner McSwain looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Brock Archie was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Townsend, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Henry County moved to 15-8 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Kenwood, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Henry County will challenge Waverly Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kenwood, they will take on Northeast at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
