Baseball Recap: Greeneview Comes Up Short

Greeneview extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 7-4 in the process. They fell 5-1 to the Miami Trace Panthers. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Rams couldn't push the score so high this time.

Greeneview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Hassid, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

As for Miami Trace, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games.

On Miami Trace's side, Gaige Stuckey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks. Stuckey has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Miami Trace let Gage Bowers and Austin T Brown run wild. Bowers went 1-for-3 with three runs and one triple, while Brown went 2-for-3 with four RBI. Those three runs gave Bowers a new career-high.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greeneview will welcome West Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Miami Trace, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Logan Elm at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
