Basketball Game Preview: Edgewood Lions vs. La Puente Warriors

The Edgewood Lions will head out on the road to square off against the La Puente Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. La Puente took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Edgewood, who comes in off a win.

Edgewood is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Pomona 68-24 on Thursday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Lions just coasted through the last quarter.

Meanwhile, La Puente lost 86-63 to Workman on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 932nd, while the Lobos are ranked 306th).

La Puente has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Edgewood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-12.

Edgewood lost to La Puente on the road by a decisive 60-44 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Edgewood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
