Baseball Recap: Monday's Win Is Mulberry's Ninth in Last 11 Outings

Mulberry got themselves on the board against Victory Christian Academy on Monday, but Victory Christian Academy never followed suit. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Storm. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly four runs.

Justin Williams looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Mulberry let Griffin Cline and Hayden Wyatt run wild. Cline went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run, while Wyatt went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Nic Partridge, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Mulberry hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Victory Christian Academy struck out 14 times.

Mulberry has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Victory Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 12-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mulberry will welcome Fort Meade at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Victory Christian Academy, they will host Discovery at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
