Softball Recap: Osborn Knights vs. King Crusaders

Osborn had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 0-5 to make it seven. They fell 12-8 to the King Crusaders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-6 on Monday.

Cora Mason was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Danai Childs was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

As for King, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games.

On King's side, the team relied heavily on Kyria Stokes-Jackson, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run and two runs.

Osborn didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 21-10 defeat against Denby on the 3rd. As for King, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-10 loss against Central on the 30th.
