Basketball Recap: Newfound Regional Takes a Loss

Newfound Regional was the 79-25 winner over Hillsboro-Deering when they last played one another back in February of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. The Newfound Regional Bears took a 35-21 bruising from the Hillsboro-Deering Hillcats on Friday. The defeat leaves the Bears without a win on the season.

Newfound Regional's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Hillsboro-Deering, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newfound Regional will host Mascoma at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Newfound Regional is facing Mascoma at the right time seeing as Mascoma is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. Hillsboro-Deering has already played their next matchup (against Campbell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
