Baseball Recap: Bland County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Mount View on Wednesday, Bland County came back down to earth. The Bears fell just short of the Galax Maroon Tide by a score of 6-5 on Friday. The Bears were not able to make up for their loss to the Maroon Tide from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Bland County dropped their record down to 2-12 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Galax, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-12.

Looking ahead, Bland County will take on Northwood at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bears are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Galax, they will challenge Fort Chiswell at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pioneers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Maroon Tide's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
