Paloma Valley might have lost, but man, Orlando Gonzalez was a machine: he threw for 384 yards and five touchdowns. Thanks to that big game, Gonzalez is now up to 16 passing touchdowns on the season. Noah Davis was Gonzalez's top target, picking up 151 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Orange Vista). They simply couldn't be stopped last Friday as they easily beat Vista 42-7. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Coyotes' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Panthers are ranked 703rd).
Paloma Valley better keep an eye on Khalil Abdul-Aziz. He was instrumental in Orange Vista's win, throwing for 151 yards and three TDs. What's more, Abdul-Aziz racked up 133.6 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Jordan Canada got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.
Orange Vista's run defense was locked in: Vista could only muster 2.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Frankie Gonzalez for the heroic effort on defense: he. Orange Vista didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.6.
The victory made it two in a row for Orange Vista and bumps their season record up to 2-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.5 points over those games. As for Paloma Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
