Basketball Game Preview: Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes vs. Wagner Thunderbirds

The Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes will square off against the Wagner Thunderbirds at 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday. Wagner took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Duncanville, who comes in off a win.

Wagner will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Duncanville extended their winning streak to 13 on Saturday. The Panthers and Pantherettes narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Parish Episcopal 58-55.

Meanwhile, Wagner played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Lufkin and fell 67-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Thunderbirds have suffered since December 27, 2024.

Wagner's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2. As for Duncanville, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Duncanville took their win against Wagner in their previous matchup back in November of 2020 by a conclusive 69-49 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers and Pantherettes since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
