Chico is 8-2 against Red Bluff since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers will face off against the Spartans at 1:00 p.m. Chico will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Chico is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Pleasant Valley 5-4.

Vinny Boatwright tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Chico's win was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Horn, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Alex Schukei was another, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Chico hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pleasant Valley struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Red Bluff owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over Foothill. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won seven in a row.
Not much got past Cooper Sides, who gave up just five hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Foothill off the board. Sides also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Red Bluff is 10-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-10 otherwise.
Chico pushed their record up to 26-1 with the victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Red Bluff, their victory bumped their record up to 18-11.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Chico hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like Red Bluff struggles in that department as they've averaged .357. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Chico came out on top in a nail-biter against Red Bluff when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 7-5. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
