Football Recap: Wendell Falls to Filer in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Wendell had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a blow against the Filer Wildcats, falling 61-0. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Tristan Rea was a one-man wrecking crew For Filer. as he threw for 213 yards and five TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 43 yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave Rea a new career-high in passer rating (153.3). Another player making a difference was Wyatt Blass, who rushed for 117 yards on only five carries.

Coming up, Wendell will challenge West Jefferson/Clark County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Filer, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against American Falls at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
