Basketball Recap: Gerstell Academy Takes a Loss

Gerstell Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Paul's Girls Gators. Gerstell Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as St. Paul's Girls apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Gerstell Academy lost, don't look at Kiara Hardy. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Hardy has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Gerstell Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for St. Paul's Girls, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Gerstell Academy has already played their next game (against Severn School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. St. Paul's Girls is taking a road trip to square off against St. John's Catholic Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
