Softball Game Preview: Marblehead Magicians vs. Saugus Sachems

Marblehead is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Saugus is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Magicians will host the Sachems at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Marblehead's pitching crew has only allowed 0.9 runs per game this season, so Saugus' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Marblehead's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Salem by a score of 4-0. The Magicians haven't had any issues with the Witches recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Saugus and Winthrop had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Sachems walked away with a 7-3 win over the Vikings on Friday.

Marblehead's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Saugus, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Marblehead skirted past Saugus 1-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Magicians repeat their success, or do the Sachems have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
