Hackett has gone a perfect 4-0 against Lamar recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Hornets will venture away from home to face off against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hackett took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against West Fork, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hornets had just enough and edged out the Tigers 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted since April 24, 2025.
Ryleigh Decker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.
On the hitting side, Kali Reather was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Michaelyn Freeman, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Meanwhile, Lamar entered their tilt with Cossatot River on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Mylee Parker made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, Nevaeh Danver and Avery Phillips did most of the damage at the plate: Danver went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Phillips got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Phillips has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Shayleigh Palmer, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Hackett's record now sits at 7-8. As for Lamar, their record is now 21-3.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hackett hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. However, it's not like Lamar struggles in that department as they've averaged .354. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hackett beat Lamar 6-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
