Baseball Recap: Skyline Has No Trouble Against Westwood

Skyline lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Westwood, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's matchup. The Coyotes put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 14-3 win on Thursday. The Coyotes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by nine runs or more this season.

Thor Pelczarski tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Dru Moore and Hunter Daniels did most of the damage at the plate: Moore scored four runs while going 3-for-3, while Daniels went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. Moore has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ryan Vitale, who scored three runs and stole four bases.

Skyline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

Skyline's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 11-7. As for Westwood, they moved to 13-7 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Westwood is set to take on their familiar foe Mountain View at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors are on a four-game streak of home wins, the Toros a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
