Baseball Recap: Brooke Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Brooke ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the East Fairmont Bees, sneaking past 9-8. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bruins.

The team relied heavily on Zac O'Mery, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Sperringer, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Brooke's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for East Fairmont, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brooke will host Toronto at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Knights will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Bruins surely won't give up without a fight. As for East Fairmont, they will be playing at home against Robert C. Byrd at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bees' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
