Basketball Game Preview: Weimar Wildcats vs. Evadale Rebels

The Weimar Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Evadale Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Weimar is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Granger, sneaking past 42-40.

Meanwhile, Evadale came tearing into Tuesday's match with 16 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42.2 points), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 64-40 margin over the Tigers. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 452nd, while the Tigers are ranked 971st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Evadale's win came from a few key players Weimar will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Devin Terrell, who went 5-for-6 on his way to 13 points and four steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jaden Gravis, who earned six points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

Evadale was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They posted seven more assists than Bremond's also-impressive total of ten.

Weimar has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.1 points over those games. Evadale's victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 30-7.
