Basketball Preview: Ludlowe Falcons vs. Ridgefield Tigers
The Ludlowe Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Ridgefield Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ludlowe will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Tigers are ranked fifth).
After a string of five wins, Ludlowe's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost to Warde at home by a decisive 51-35 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ludlowe has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Ridgefield entered their tilt with the Warriors with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Ridgefield secured a 52-46 W over the Warriors on Saturday.
Ludlowe's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3. As for Ridgefield, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1.
Ludlowe came up short against the Tigers when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 55-42. Can Ludlowe avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
