Recap: Centennial Hawks vs. Las Cruces Bulldawgs
The Centennial Hawks had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.8 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They walked away with a 30-23 victory over Las Cruces. That's another feather in the cap for Centennial, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Centennial was led to victory by Jesus Barraza and Zaiden Davis. Barraza gained 128 total yards and two touchdowns, while Davis rushed for 231 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Barraza was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards.
Centennial's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.8 points per game. As for Las Cruces, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5.
