Soccer Game Preview: Rootstown vs. United

The Rootstown Rovers will face off against the United Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rootstown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.9 goals per game this season.

Rootstown's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Smithville. Rootstown haven't had any issues with Smithville recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Zach Pastor was the driving force of Rootstown's attack as he scored both of Rootstown's goals, bringing his season total up to 23 goals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for United, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past Minerva 8-2 on Tuesday. United might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by four goals or more this season.

Rootstown's victory bumped their record up to 11-3-1. As for United, their win bumped their record up to 6-7-2.
