Baseball Game Preview: Andrews Yellowjackets vs. Camden Blue Devils

The Andrews Yellowjackets will head out on the road to square off against the Camden Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Andrews is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

Andrews picked up another tournament win on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Potsdam with a sharp 13-2 win. With that victory, the Yellowjackets brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Riley Jordan made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brycen Cannon, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Kayden Dorsey also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Andrews always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Camden sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Tyler on Tuesday.

Camden secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Gavyn Hatzinger, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Andrews' record is now 8-4. As for Camden, their record now sits at 2-0.

Everything went Andrews' way against Camden in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Andrews made off with a 14-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
