Baseball Recap: Osborn Comes Up Short

Academy of the Americas hit Osborn with a five-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Academy of the Americas. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Academy of the Americas earlier this season, when they won 9-8.

Dakota Sanford and Xavier Coleman did some serious damage despite the final result: Sanford got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base, while Coleman went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Coleman has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

Osborn's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Academy of the Americas, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Osborn does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Academy of the Americas, they will be playing at home against Denby at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
