Softball Recap: Rio Hondo Comes Up Short

Rio Hondo's last matchup with Veterans Memorial could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Tuesday. The Rio Hondo Bobcats came up short against the Veterans Memorial Chargers, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 back in February.

Rio Hondo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danielle Rocha, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Rio Hondo dropped their record down to 2-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Veterans Memorial, they moved to 6-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Rio Hondo will venture away from home to take on Lyford at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th. The contest will give Rio Hondo their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Veterans Memorial, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hidalgo at 6:30 p.m. Veterans Memorial is facing Hidalgo at the right time seeing as Hidalgo is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
