Football Recap: Cabrillo Starts Season with Victory at Home

Cabrillo took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They took down the Selma Bears 31-14. This was payback for the Conquistadores, who suffered a 29-26 loss the last time these two teams met.

Cabrillo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabriel Barraza, who threw for 200 yards and two TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 34 yards. Another rusher making a difference was Andre Brisco, who gained 110 total yards and a touchdown.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cabrillo is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against East Bakersfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Selma, they will venture away from home to challenge Fresno at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
