Basketball Game Preview: Xenia Buccaneers vs. West Carrollton Pirates

Xenia hasn't had much luck against West Carrollton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Xenia Buccaneers will venture away from home to challenge the West Carrollton Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Xenia took a blow against Beavercreek, falling 78-51. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 620th, while the Beavers are ranked 256th).

Meanwhile, West Carrollton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 57-52 to Troy.

West Carrollton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Xenia, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Things could have been worse for Xenia, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took an 83-64 loss to West Carrollton in their previous meeting back in February. Can Xenia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
