Sycamore has gone 9-1 against Ottawa recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Sycamore Spartans will challenge the Ottawa Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Sycamore has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with six straight defeats, while Ottawa will come in with four straight wins.

Sycamore saw some tournament action on Saturday. They lost 62-40 to Stillman Valley. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while the Cardinals are ranked 22nd).

Meanwhile, Ottawa was able to grind out a solid victory over Normal University on Tuesday, taking the game 37-30.

Ottawa is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Sycamore, their loss dropped their record down to 8-18.

Sycamore skirted past Ottawa 42-39 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sycamore since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
