After a string of eight wins, Columbia Central's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Decatur Raiders. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Golden Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Columbia Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Denning, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Columbia Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Decatur, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-3.

Coincidentally, Columbia Central and Decatur will both be playing Olivet the next time they take the field. The Raiders will host the Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Golden Eagles will play them later in the day, at 9:00 p.m.
