Recap: Clearwater Tornadoes vs. Norland Vikings

If the Clearwater Tornadoes were feeling good off their 58-38 takedown of the Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Clearwater was the victim of a tough 57-37 loss at the hands of Norland on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Clearwater has suffered since December 9, 2023.

It was another big night for Jasmine Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds for Norland. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Norland's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shania Swan, who scored ten points along with eight assists and four steals.

Clearwater's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Norland, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clearwater on the road again on Wednesday and play against East Lake at 7:45 p.m. on January 17th. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Avery Chatman and Allevia Williams. As for Norland, they will head out on the road to face off against Sports Leadership & Management at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Sports Leadership & Management's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Norland has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
