Basketball Game Preview: Marietta Blue Devils vs. Clarke Central Gladiators

The Marietta Blue Devils will take on the Clarke Central Gladiators in a tournament on Friday. Clarke Central took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Marietta, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Marietta beat Kennesaw Mountain 54-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Meanwhile, Clarke Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 62-50 to Cedar Shoals. While losing is never fun, the Gladiators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 449th, while the Jaguars are ranked 132nd).

Marietta's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Clarke Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.
