Basketball Recap: Wesclin's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

The Wesclin Warriors ended up a good deal behind the Collinsville Kahoks on Saturday and lost 56-38. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Collinsville was led to victory by Jordan Taylor and Camauri Mayes. Taylor dropped a double-double with 13 points and 17 boards, while Mayes shot 78% from the field on his way to 16 points. Those 78% shooting accuracy gave Mayes a new career-high. Hunter Thorpe also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Wesclin fell to 4-1. As for Collinsville, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Wesclin will venture away from home to face off against Red Bud at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Collinsville, they will head out to square off against Belleville East at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
