Recap: Universal Academy Falcons vs. Classical Prep Lions
The Universal Academy Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a tough 50-27 defeat at the hands of Classical Prep. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Universal Academy has suffered since November 29, 2023.
Classical Prep was led to victory by Mia Milanes and Kaelyn Malloy. Milanes dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Malloy dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Malloy has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Gannon, who scored four points along with three steals.
Universal Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Classical Prep, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Universal Academy will square off against Sarasota Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Sarasota Christian's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Universal Academy has been banged up by 13 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. As for Classical Prep, they will square off against Families Instructing Students HomeSchool at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
