Softball Game Preview: A.L. Brown Wonders vs. West Cabarrus Wolverines

The A.L. Brown Wonders will square off against the West Cabarrus Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, A.L. Brown came up short against South Iredell and fell 10-5.

Madeline Cook made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was MaKaela Frederick, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for West Cabarrus' offense. They lost 11-0 to Mooresville on Friday. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

A.L. Brown's loss dropped their record down to 5-3-1. As for West Cabarrus, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. A.L. Brown hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .386. However, it's not like West Cabarrus struggles in that department as they've averaged .336. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

A.L. Brown came out on top in a nail-biter against West Cabarrus when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 17-16. Will A.L. Brown repeat their success, or does West Cabarrus has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
