It was a good run, but Benjamin unfortunately witnessed the end of their 12-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sonora Broncos.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 17-25, 25-16, 25-15.
Sonora's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Galindo, who had four digs and 19 assists. Galindo has been hot , having posted 14 or more assists the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Liliana Gallegos, who had ten digs.
Benjamin's defeat ended a 14-game streak of away wins and brought them to 31-7. As for Sonora, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 33-8.
Benjamin's road trip will continue as they head out to face Saint Jo at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sonora, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stacey at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stacey will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Sonora surely won't give up without a fight.
