Lyons has gone 9-1 against Proviso West recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lions will face off against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Lyons is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

Proviso West better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Lyons' game on Tuesday is any indication, that's when Lyons really gets things going. The Lions were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Hinsdale Central. Lyons' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five contests.

Meanwhile, Proviso West managed to keep up with Oak Park-River Forest until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Panthers came up short against the Huskies, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Proviso West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Oak Park-River Forest are ranked eighth).

Lyons' victory bumped their record up to 13-3-2. As for Proviso West, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6-1.

Lyons beat Proviso West 2-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
